Digimon BT-27 Ignition of X: Release Date and Card List

One reveal slots straight into Tier 1 Data Squad. The box price is the part to wait on.

8 min readBy Mika Santos

Our callWait on the box. Preorders sit at $119.68, right at MSRP, while BT-26 boxes sold for $61.78 seven weeks after release. MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode is the reveal to watch.

Digimon BT-27 Ignition of X is the X Antibody booster, and the global English version hits stores on December 11, 2026. Bandai's English account revealed three of its 108 cards on October 15, and only one of them clearly upgrades a deck that wins events today: MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode, which a Data Squad deck can reach off the Ravemon it already plays. Our call is to skip the preorder box. It costs MSRP now, and the last main set's boxes fell to about half that within two months.

Digimon BT-27 Ignition of X release date and price

There are three versions, and they don't share a date or a pack size.

Every version has the same 108 card types. TCGplayer lists the English booster box for December 11, alongside the Alysion starter decks ST-25 (Rubeusdramon) and ST-26 (Yukinamon), which come out at the same time and get support cards in this set.

Should you preorder Digimon BT-27?

We'd wait. On October 24, 2026, the English booster box sold for $119.68 on TCGplayer, from only four listings. Twenty-four packs at the $4.99 MSRP comes to $119.76, so a preorder today is simply full retail.

Compare the last main set. BT-26 Timeless Bonds came out in English on September 4 at the same $4.99 a pack. On October 24 its box sold for $61.78, about 52% of that $119.76. A preorder buys you cards on day one. On the BT-26 pattern, it doesn't save you money.

If you play Data Squad, the one card you'll want is a single, and singles get cheap once boxes are opened. If you collect X Antibody cards, the fixed-content PB-26 Tamer's Selection Box Ver.X Antibody ($88, March 2027) already has pre-orders closed, so retail boxes are the way in.

The BT-27 card list so far: rarities and Bandai's three reveals

Bandai's official card list had no BT-27 cards yet when we checked on October 24. This is the rarity split from the product page:

Uncommon26

Super Rare12

The three cards Bandai revealed on its English X account on October 15, during the DigiCa Times stream, are one Super Rare (of 12), one Ultimate Rare (of 3) and one Secret Rare (of 2). All three are Dual Cards: a Digimon on one side, an Option on the other. They can't be played to the field. You either digivolve into them or use the Option, and Arts Digivolve lets your cards digivolve into the Digimon side for free instead of trashing the Option.

Bandai's English sample images of Craniamon (X Antibody) BT27-070, MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode BT27-035 and Alphamon: Ouryuken BT27-103, the three Dual Cards revealed on October 15, 2026 Image credit: Bandai via @digimon_tcg_EN on X (sample images, October 15, 2026).

MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode BT27-035 (Ultimate Rare). Watch it. A 15000 DP Level 7 with Reboot, Blocker and Evade. It digivolves from any Level 6 with the DATA SQUAD trait for 5, or Burst Digivolves from MirageGaogamon for 0 by returning Thomas H. Norstein to your hand. When it digivolves or attacks, once per turn, it can use its own Option effect: bounce one of your opponent's Digimon to their hand, then unsuspend one of yours if their hand is at 8 or more. The same triggers also punish a big hand: at 8 or more cards, your opponent puts cards on the bottom of the deck until they hold 7, and their top security card goes to the bottom too. Ravemon (BT26-082) is a Level 6 with the DATA SQUAD trait, and it's in 18 of the 21 Data Squad lists we counted. None of the 297 lists in our sample plays MirageGaogamon, and only 2 run Thomas, so the Burst route needs a new build, while the cost-5 route works off what the deck already plays. "that mirage is busted," u/SapphireSalamander wrote under the reveal.

Alphamon: Ouryuken BT27-103 (Secret Rare). Fine for Chronicle players. It DNA digivolves from Alphamon plus Ouryumon for 0 and has Piercing, Security Attack +1 and Blocker. Once per turn, when it digivolves or attacks, it can delete an opposing Digimon, with Recovery +2 if it DNA digivolved, and your opponent's effects don't affect it during attacks. Its Option deletes a Digimon, then lets two of your Digimon DNA digivolve into it. Every Chronicle list we counted already runs 4 or 5 Alphamon and 2 to 4 Ouryumon, and every one also plays 1 to 3 of the older Alphamon: Ouryuken ACE (BT20-060), so this card fights for an existing slot. Pairing the two Digimon is the catch. u/Darksoulist put it this way: "Its not super often your going to have both Alpha and Ouryu at the same time to take full advantage of it." Our hand simulation backs that up: across those 12 real lists, you've seen both an Alphamon and an Ouryumon by your fourth turn in 21% of games going first and 25% going second, before any search effects. The Option side's delete works with or without the pair, so the card is rarely dead in hand.

Craniamon (X Antibody) BT27-070 (Super Rare). Skip it for now. A 13000 DP Level 6 that digivolves from Craniamon for 2, with Reboot and Blocker. When any of your Digimon would leave play, it can suspend to keep them there. When it suspends, once per turn, it can delete all of your opponent's lowest-DP Digimon, then trash a Craniamon or X Antibody card from under it to use its Option effect: protection and +5000 DP for a Blocker, then an unsuspend. It needs a Craniamon in play first, and only 3 of the 297 lists in our sample ran any Craniamon. "Craniamon will still struggle to do anything but block with this. He needs a better way to deal damage," u/TheJoyofFelching wrote.

Bar chart of which current decks already run what the BT-27 reveals need: Ravemon in 18 of 21 Data Squad lists, Thomas H. Norstein in 2, MirageGaogamon in 0; Alphamon and Ouryumon in all 12 Chronicle lists; Craniamon in 3 of 297 lists Chart: ShonenTCG. What else the set promises

The rest comes from the product description on TCGplayer, not from revealed cards. The Royal Knights from EX-13 return in X Antibody forms on Dual Cards. King Drasil, the Royal Knights' commander from Digimon Story Time Stranger, appears as support for every Royal Knights deck. The Beatbreak Chiropmon deck and the Data Squad Gaogamon deck get what the listing calls "massive enhancements". We'd watch that Gaogamon line most, because the Data Squad lists winning now are built around Ravemon (18 of 21) and rarely touch Gaogamon (2 of 21). BT-27 looks set to give Data Squad a second build.

What Digimon BT-27 could do to the format

Treat this part as a projection. Three cards out of 108 aren't a format. In the 297 Limitless Play decklists from October 3 to 23, Data Squad went 38-28-9 with three event wins and sits in Tier 1 of our Digimon Card Game tier list. A Level 7 finisher it can reach off Ravemon makes a strong deck stronger. Chronicle went 20-20-4 with no event wins across 12 lists, and Ouryuken competes with a card those lists already play, so we don't expect it to move that record much. The EX-13 Royal Knights that are losing now need more than three cards to turn around; our EX-13 Chivalrous XIII set guide has their records.

Who should skip BT-27

  • New players: learn the game with the Digimon Card Game how-to-play guide and a starter deck first. A booster box is a poor way to build your first deck.
  • Craniamon fans hoping for a fix: the one Craniamon card shown so far still needs a Craniamon in play, and most of its text is about blocking.
  • Anyone buying boxes as an investment: the BT-26 Timeless Bonds set guide shows where box money ends up, in a few special prints you can't plan around.

Our take: we'd let the preorder go and buy MirageGaogamon: Burst Mode as a single once English boxes are open, if you already play Data Squad. Chronicle players can wait for the rest of the Chronicle cards before deciding on Ouryuken. Everyone else should wait for the full card list; three cards in, the box is a full-price bet on 105 unknowns. The Digimon Card Game complete guide has the rest of our coverage.

How we checked this

On October 24, 2026 we read the release details off Bandai's global English, Japanese and Asia English product pages and the card text off Bandai's three October 15 reveal images. Prices are TCGplayer market data from that day. For the deck fit, we ran every decklist published on Limitless Play from October 3 to 23, 2026 (41 events, 297 lists) through scripts/sims/digimon-bt27-reveal-fit.py, which also shuffles each of the 12 Chronicle lists 100,000 times to see how often both DNA pieces show up in your hand. That sim ignores mulligans and search effects, so treat its numbers as a floor.
