FB11 Goku Black Deck Guide: Green Ki Snowball Build

Green's card-advantage leader: a draw on every attack, then Ki piling onto Goku Black and Zamasu at once.

7 min readBy Alex Chen

Our callBuild it if you like winning on card quality: the Awakened draw-and-filter is one of the set's best leader texts on paper. Wait for the first weekend of English results before paying up for the SRs.

Every FB11 Goku Black deck guide comes down to one goal: reach Awakened, then out-draw the other player. Goku Black draws on every attack from turn one, and once he flips each attack draws two, discards one and drops Ki onto a Goku Black and a Zamasu. We'd build him first among the Green options in Brightness of Hope, with one warning: the shell needs both names on the board, so the Zamasu count matters more than it looks.

TL;DR: Goku Black (FB11-049, Green) draws 1 When Attacking on his front side. He Awakens with a Goku Black or Zamasu in your Battle Area and 2+ Ki there, drawing 1 as he flips. Awakened, each attack draws 2, discards 1, then gives up to one Goku Black and one Zamasu +1 Ki. Run three one-cost Zamasu playsets and the FB11-054 searcher, and you see a named piece in most opening hands.

How the leader actually plays

Before the flip, Goku Black is a plain card-flow leader: [When Attacking] draw 1. That's a full extra card per attack, so there's no reason to sandbag swings while you set up.

The Awaken check needs two things at once: a card named Goku Black or Zamasu in your Battle Area, and a total of 2 or more Ki across your Battle Area. The Ki doesn't have to sit on the named card. Meet both and he draws 1, then flips.

The back side swaps the plain draw for a filter. Each attack draws 2 and discards 1, so you still net one card, but you keep the better of two. Then up to one Goku Black and up to one Zamasu in your Battle Area each get +1 Ki. That second half is the snowball: every attack refuels the Ki that FB11-057 and FB11-061 care about.

The FB11 core package

These are the FB11 cards we'd start from. Copy counts are our call, not a tournament list: English FB11 isn't out until October 16.

CardCostWhat it does for this deckOur copies
FB11-061 Zamasu (R)1Blocker; can't be KO'd once per turn with a Goku Black Leader and 2+ Ki4
FB11-062 Zamasu (R)1On Play: look at 4, take a Goku Black or a Supreme Kai card4
FB11-063 Zamasu (SR)1On Play: a Goku Black gets +1 Ki, then both can't be KO'd until the end of the opponent's next turn4
FB11-054 Goku Black (SR)2On Play: look at 3, take a Goku Black or Zamasu; When Attacking: a Battle Card gets +1 Ki4
FB11-053 Goku Black (UC)3On Play: +2 Ki on itself; its cost goes up by 1 per Ki it holds4
FB11-057 Goku Black (SR)4Remove 2+ Ki: play a Goku Black costing 3 or less from your energy, then every Goku Black gets +5000 per Ki removed3
FB11-051 Goku Black (C)1When Attacking: +10000 for the battle if any Ki left your Battle Area this turn3

Why three Zamasu playsets. The leader's Awakened Ki only lands on Zamasu if one is in play, and FB11-061 and FB11-063 are the protection in this core. FB11-062 also digs for Goku Black, so it doubles as a searcher.

FB11-053 is the Awaken button. One card, two Ki, and it's a Goku Black. Play it next to any Zamasu and the leader can flip that turn.

FB11-057 is the payoff, and it loops with FB11-053. Remove two Ki, then play a Goku Black of cost 3 or less from your energy. FB11-053 sitting in energy has no Ki, so it costs 3 there. On our reading of the text, it comes back in, its On Play puts two Ki straight back, and every Goku Black on board gets +10000 for the turn. FB11-051 then swings for +10000 more because Ki left the Battle Area that turn.

Opening-hand odds (our math)

Fusion World decks run 50 to 60 cards with up to four copies of a card number, you start with six cards, and each player may redraw the whole hand once. We worked out the exact odds for a 50-card list:

  • Twelve one-cost Zamasu (all three playsets): at least one in your opening six 82.6% of the time, and 97.0% if you redraw every hand that misses.
  • Eight searchers (FB11-054 plus FB11-062): 67.0% in the opener, 89.1% with the redraw.

So the Zamasu half of the Awaken condition is close to automatic. The Ki half is what slows you down, which is why we'd keep all four FB11-053.

Matchups and sequencing

Against fast boards, lead with FB11-061 or FB11-063 over a bigger attacker. Blocker plus once-per-turn KO immunity (once you have 2 Ki) buys the turns you need, and FB11-063's protection holds through the opponent's next turn.

Against slower decks, lead with FB11-054 or FB11-062 and dig for the missing name, then land FB11-053 to flip. Once you're Awakened, discard surplus searchers to the filter and keep one Goku Black and one Zamasu on board so both Ki triggers land.

Hold FB11-057 until a turn where +5000 per Ki removed actually changes a battle. Spending Ki early can drop you below the 2 Ki that FB11-061's protection needs.

Community reaction to the reveals has mostly been about the character coming back. "Ever since Goku Black Blue, I've always wanted to see artwork like this of the character," wrote u/Ensheen on r/DBSFusionWorld, adding "it's great that it's back now."

Our take

We'd build Goku Black as the first Green FB11 deck: the draw is real from turn one, the Awaken condition is easy to hit, and the FB11-057 into FB11-053 line gives a clear finisher. Skip him if you want to win on raw power early, because most of the core is one-cost bodies. And don't buy the SRs at launch prices until English results show whether three FB11-057 is right or too many.

How we checked this

Every card in this guide was read on Bandai's official Fusion World card database on October 14, 2026, along with the FB11 Q&A page (rulings on FB11-061 and FB11-063) and the basic-rules FAQ for deck size, copy limit and the opening redraw. The opening-hand figures are exact hypergeometric odds for a 50-card deck, worked out by us; we haven't played the deck, and no English FB11 results exist yet. Twenty-five sources in total.
