Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World
Dragon Ball Fusion World Story Booster 01 [ST01] releases August 21, 2026 in English, and it's built differently from every numbered set before it: instead of a new competitive drop, it's a collector-focused release built around specific anime moments, with three brand-new leaders and full foil treatment on every card in the box.
TL;DR: ST01 Story Booster 01 releases August 21, 2026 (English), August 8 in Japan. It's built around the final battle against Kid Buu and Broly's biggest fights, with 85 card types, $5.99 per 12-card pack, and full holographic foil on every card. Three new leaders debut: Son Goten, Majin Buu, and Vegeta. Two reprinted leaders return in alt-art: Vegito and Broly.
Story Booster 01 is Fusion World's first "story booster," a set built around specific anime moments instead of introducing a new competitive format shift. Bandai frames it as a collector-first release: every card gets a holographic foil finish, and the alt-art leader cards get a dual-sided foil treatment the official product page calls a first for the game. The set focuses on the Majin Buu Saga's climax and Broly's signature fights, and it releases August 21, 2026 in English, with Japan getting it first on August 8.
Three brand-new leaders debut in ST01, each tied to the Majin Buu Saga:
Son Goten starts the game with the Extra Card "Fate Transcending Generations" already in the Battle Area. After Awakening, at the end of any turn where you used an Extra Card with "Kamehameha" in its name, you can switch Fate Transcending Generations to Active Mode, which sets up repeat Kamehameha plays, including on your opponent's turn.
Majin Buu starts with the Extra Card "Demonic Maze." After Awakening, he draws a card when attacking and gains +5000 power for that battle. Once per turn, with 5 or fewer Energy in play, he can also reduce the Evolve cost of a Majin-trait card in hand by 1, which pushes toward a Majin tribal shell.
Vegeta starts with the Extra Card "Wicked Soul Discovered." After Awakening, once per battle on your turn, he gains +10000 power for every Ki consumed from this card by the skill of a card with the Wicked Soul trait, rewarding decks built specifically around that trait.
None of the three ability texts have been battle-tested yet, so treat the deck-building implications as early reads rather than settled meta calls. For general Fusion World leader fundamentals, the FB10 leaders guide covers how Awakening and Extra Cards work if the terminology above is new.

Alongside the three new leaders, ST01 reprints two existing leaders in dual-sided foil alt-art: Vegito (originally FB05-025) and Broly (originally FB08-073). These aren't new abilities, they're new art treatments on cards that already exist in the competitive pool, which matters for collectors more than deck builders. If you already own a competitive Vegito build, the FB10 Vegito deck guide still applies; the ST01 printing is a collector variant, not a new version of the card.
Per the official English product page and cross-referenced community card-list trackers, ST01 contains 85 total card types: reported as 5 Leaders, 36 Commons, 20 Rares, 10 Super Rares, and 2 Secret Rares, plus 12 exclusive Energy Marker designs in both normal and alt-art versions. Packs cost $5.99 and contain 12 cards each. Bandai hasn't listed booster box pricing yet, so treat per-box cost as unconfirmed until retailers list it.
The full-foil treatment across every card, not just chase rarities, is the headline collector feature. Combined with the alt-art dual-sided leader foils, ST01 reads as Bandai testing a premium, nostalgia-driven product line alongside the regular numbered competitive sets.

For collectors, this is a straightforward buy. I've watched Fusion World's premium art tiers hold value better than most people expect, and a full-foil set built around Kid Buu's final battle is exactly the kind of nostalgia product that keeps demand steady regardless of competitive relevance. The SCR card art guide breaks down how those premium art tiers have performed historically, useful context before deciding how many packs to open versus keep sealed.
For competitive players, wait for the ability text to get tournament reps before committing budget. Son Goten, Majin Buu, and Vegeta all read as build-around leaders rather than plug-and-play upgrades to existing shells, and their trait-specific payoffs (Vegeta's Wicked Soul synergy, Majin Buu's Majin-trait cost reduction) need supporting cards that aren't fully known yet from an 85-card set.
When does Dragon Ball Fusion World Story Booster 01 release? August 21, 2026 for the English version, confirmed on the official product page and the official @dbfw_cardgameEN account. Japan gets it first on August 8, 2026, per multiple import trackers, ahead of the English release by about two weeks.
What is Story Booster 01? ST01 is Fusion World's first story-driven booster: a collector-focused set built around specific anime moments rather than a new competitive numbered set. This one centers on the final battle against Kid Buu and Broly's biggest fights, with 85 card types and full foil treatment on every card.
Who are the new leaders in Story Booster 01? Three brand-new leaders: Son Goten, Majin Buu, and Vegeta, each built around the Majin Buu Saga. The set also includes two alt-art reprinted leaders, Vegito (originally FB05-025) and Broly (originally FB08-073).
How much does Story Booster 01 cost? $5.99 per pack, with 12 cards per pack, per the official English product listing. Bandai hasn't listed booster box pricing yet, only the per-pack price.
Is Story Booster 01 legal in Standard format? Yes. Story Booster products are numbered Fusion World releases and follow the same legality rules as main boosters. Check the current Standard format guide for the full list of legal sets alongside ST01.
What makes Story Booster 01 different from a normal Fusion World set? Every card in the set has a holographic foil finish, something Bandai describes as a first for a full set rather than a chase-rarity treatment. Alt-art leader cards also get dual-sided foil, which the official product page calls a first for Fusion World.
