The set's story moves characters into the Wilderknot, the Great Empty Sea, and Torchlight Peaks after the events of Winterspell. Ravensburger also published a set of Wilds Unknown deck ideas rather than presenting them as proven tournament winners. Its Toy list uses 43 Toy cards and estimates a 99.6% chance of seeing at least one Toy, plus a 94.3% chance of seeing two Toy characters among the top four cards. Those numbers describe that specific list's deck construction, not the overall metagame.

The official Ravensburger prerelease announcement says the Wilds Unknown pack was English-language only and that stores could run Sealed or Pack Rush. It also warns that event details and prize support can vary by region. That makes the prerelease pack a product and event starting point, not a guarantee of identical store procedures.
For normal buying, the booster display maximizes opening volume while the Trove adds storage and play accessories. A two-player starter is the cleaner way to get two ready-to-play decks. Players chasing a particular character or playset should compare singles first, especially now that the set has been available for several months.
The official product page also advertised a Dash Parr promo with a booster display bought at a local game store. Promo distribution can depend on store participation and supply, so check the seller's terms before counting that card in a purchase.
Wilds Unknown is still legal in Core Constructed, but the format is no longer the pre-release or early-set environment described by the old version of this article. Ravensburger's Attack of the Vine announcement says that the July 17 rotation left Fabled, Whispers in the Well, Winterspell, Wilds Unknown, and Attack of the Vine legal in Core.
The current snapshot is therefore an Attack of the Vine format that includes Wilds Unknown, not a Wilds Unknown-only metagame. On September 16, 2026, Inkdecks listed Amber Amethyst Midrange at 19% share, Amber Emerald Elinor at 14%, Amber Emerald Songs at 7%, and Detectives at 6%. TCG Contender's live view also placed Amber Amethyst Midrange and Amber Emerald Aggro-Midrange in Tier 1. These figures can move as more Set 13 events are recorded.
The practical lesson is to use Wilds Unknown for the cards and engines it actually supplies, then test them against the current five-set pool. The set's Toy and Super themes remain useful deck-building references, but a July snapshot should not be presented as the September tier list. Collectors have a clear reason to care: Pixar first appearances, the set's special art treatments, and the launch of Prerelease Packs. The product is no longer scarce by default, though, and the current price of a sealed display can be very different from its original MSRP.
Competitive players should start with a deck list and price the required singles. Sealed product makes sense when you want to open packs, build a collection, or play Sealed or Pack Rush. It is a poor substitute for four copies of a specific card when the goal is a finished Core deck.
New players have two practical entry points. The 2-Player Starter Set supplies two decks and the materials needed to begin, while the Trove combines packs with storage and play accessories. Neither product replaces learning the current Core legality list, so check the rotation before buying cards for a tournament deck.
