Union Arena Inuyasha character cards cover five distinct versions of the main character across Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Super Rare slots in the UA50BT set (Japanese release May 29, 2026; English UE23BT August 14, 2026). Each version fills a different role in your deck, from a zero-cost trigger enabler to the primary finisher with Raid and Double Attack.
TL;DR: There are 5 Inuyasha character cards in UA50BT. The SR version is the game-closing finisher with Raid, unblocked draw, and Double Attack on entry. The Rare holds the mid-game with a BP check draw and self-refreshing active. The Uncommon with Tessaiga is the set's most interesting design: it carries Damage (2) and a unique under-card mechanic. The Common is a budget trigger piece. All red Inuyasha builds run 4x SR as their primary finisher.
Five Inuyasha character cards appear in UA50BT, spread across every non-event rarity tier. The numbering block runs from IYS-1-042 through IYS-1-046. You do not need all five versions: competitive builds typically run 4x SR, 4x Rare or a preferred Uncommon, and ignore the Common entirely except in budget lists.
The character name "Inuyasha" is treated as a synergy target by other cards in the set. Kagome Higurashi (Rare, IYS-1-065) searches specifically for Inuyasha or Kagome cards. Kikyo SR activates her once-per-turn ability by resting an Inuyasha character. The SR Kagome deploys an Inuyasha or Kagome character from hand in resting state when she enters the field. Building with multiple Inuyasha versions increases the number of hits for these search and deploy effects.
The InuYasha set is Red-aligned for the hero faction. Inuyasha himself is the primary attacker and finisher for the Red side, with Kagome as the draw engine, Miroku as the counter accelerator, and Sango plus Kirara as support pieces.
Purple handles the villain faction: Sesshomaru, Naraku, Kanna, and their allies. Some builds mix both colors, but the cleanest competitive lists stay mono-Red and use Inuyasha character cards as the main win condition.
Inuyasha's card design across the five versions emphasizes three recurring mechanics: self-refreshing from resting to active during your main phase, payoff when attacking unblocked, and scaling BP above a 4000 threshold. These mechanics work together. The Rare Inuyasha draws when he attacks with 4000+ BP, which you reach by pairing him with the SR Kagome's +1000 BP line or by stacking through Myoga and Sango buffs.

The cheapest Inuyasha card in the set. No energy cost, 1 AP to play. Its only effect is a [Get] trigger: when you obtain this card, add it to your hand. At 1500 BP it trades down against almost everything, but it enters the field for free, which matters for one specific use case.
The Counter Rush archetype sometimes includes 1 to 2 copies as an energy line filler. Because it costs nothing, it lets you develop your energy zone early without spending the Red energy you need for Miroku or Kagome. Outside that narrow role, skip it for competitive builds.
The first version with meaningful game mechanics. When your field is empty, this card's required energy drops by Red x2, making it free to play. That empty-field discount makes it your opening play if you lose your board state mid-game, giving you a free attacker without burning energy.
Once per turn, if this Inuyasha was switched from active to resting by one of your own abilities, you may switch it back to active immediately. Combine this with Miroku's counter-placement trigger or with the SR Kagome's once-per-turn resting effect to double your attacks in a single turn window.
Its [Draw] trigger adds a card when triggered. At 2000 BP it is the weakest Inuyasha attacker, but the BP can climb with Sango's field buff (+1000 BP to a character when played) and it consistently triggers its draw when blocked by smaller characters.
This is the most complex Inuyasha card in the set. Four Red energy plus 2 AP makes it the most expensive non-SR version. In exchange, you get three distinct lines:
First, it cannot block if it has no face-down cards underneath it. This constraint is central to how you play the card.
Second, while it is on the front line, you may once per turn place a face-down Tessaiga card underneath this character. The Tessaiga sub-card mechanic is part of what makes this version unique in Union Arena design. The full sub-card text is pending official EN translation from Bandai, but the mechanic appears to stack additional BP or effects on the Tessaiga host card when equipped.
Third, it carries Damage (2), dealing two extra life damage when it attacks through and is not blocked. At 4000 BP on the front line with Damage (2), it demands an answer. Opponents who cannot block it take 3 life points from a single attack, which compresses your clock dramatically.
This card sees play as a flex finisher in some Counter Rush builds, though the higher cost relative to the SR makes it a 2-of at most.
GODEEPER: Understanding how all three InuYasha deck archetypes use these Inuyasha cards differently will help you decide which version to prioritize. Union Arena InuYasha Deck Archetypes
The tempo piece of the lineup. Three Red energy is efficient for a 3000 BP attacker. Two abilities make this card earns its slot in competitive lists.
Once per turn (main phase), if this Inuyasha was switched from active to resting by one of your own abilities this turn, you may switch it back to active. The self-refresh lets it attack twice in a single turn when you have an ability that rests it. Pair it with the AP cards that rest your front-line attackers for bonus effects.
When it attacks, if its BP is 4000 or more, draw a card. Reaching 4000 from 3000 base BP is achievable through Sango's play effect (+1000 to a character), Myoga's hand bounce giving you tempo, or the SR Kagome's Main phase once-per-turn that grants +1000 and Impact (1) to an Inuyasha. A single BP boost turns the Rare Inuyasha into a draw engine for the rest of your turn.
Most Counter Rush lists run 4x Rare Inuyasha alongside 4x SR Inuyasha. The Rare holds the 3-cost slot, bridges turns 2 through 4, and keeps your hand stocked for the SR Inuyasha to close.
The primary finisher for the red faction. Every competitive Inuyasha build runs 4 copies.
[Raid] Inuyasha: When played, switches to active and may move directly to the front line. Raid means you can play the SR Inuyasha as a surprise attacker the same turn it enters, bypassing the usual resting entry state.
Unblocked draw: When this character attacks and the opponent does not block, draw a card. One Raid attack that connects draws you a card plus the trigger from the attack, netting two cards in a single swing.
Main phase activation (once per turn): Switch this character to active and it gains 1000 BP and Impact (1) until end of turn. If this Inuyasha was played this turn, it also gains Double Attack for the turn. Double Attack on a 5000 BP Impact character the turn it enters the field is the core closing package of Counter Rush.
The autograph SR versions (SR★★ and SR★★★) are foil-stamped with the Japanese voice actor Kappei Yamaguchi's signature. They are functionally identical to the base SR but are the top chase cards for collectors in UA50BT.

The red Inuyasha builds stack multiple Inuyasha versions because the character name functions as a search and deploy target for Kagome and Kikyo.
The 4x SR Inuyasha slot is non-negotiable. The question is what fills the 3-cost and 2-cost slots below it.
The Rare Inuyasha (4x) is the standard choice for the 3-cost slot. Its self-refresh and BP-check draw give you consistent card advantage through turns 2 to 4 before the SR closes.
The cost-reducing Uncommon Inuyasha (2 to 4 copies) solves one specific problem: what do you do when your board is cleared and you are out of energy? The empty-field discount gives you a free 2000 BP attacker without touching your Red energy pool, which preserves your resources for replaying Miroku or Kagome next turn.
The Tessaiga Uncommon (0 to 2 copies) is the flex slot in more aggressive lists. It hits harder than the Rare thanks to Damage (2), but the higher AP cost makes it awkward on the same turn as Miroku.
The Common Inuyasha does not compete for deck space in competitive lists. In budget or starter-deck-based builds, it fills your energy line while you collect the rarer versions.
Kagome Higurashi (Rare, IYS-1-065): Searches top 4 cards and adds an Inuyasha or Kagome to hand. Every Kagome activation digs for your SR Inuyasha or keeps your hand stocked with red threats. Run 4x.
Kagome Higurashi (SR, IYS-1-066): Has Raid. On entry, deploys a red Inuyasha or Kagome with 3 or less cost from your hand in resting state, giving you free board presence. Her Main phase once-per-turn grants an Inuyasha character +1000 BP and the ability to attack again by switching it to active. That +1000 is what pushes Rare Inuyasha over 4000 for the draw trigger.
Kikyo (SR, IYS-1-049): Carries Nullify Impact, which neutralizes the opponent's Impact attacks in battle. Her once-per-turn activation rests an active Inuyasha character to either activate Kikyo herself or rest an opponent's front-line character. She works as a combination tempo swing and Inuyasha synergy piece.
Miroku (Uncommon, IYS-1-069): On play, draw a card and place one from hand to sideline. Keeps the Counter Rush engine cycling. Standard 4x inclusion.
"Sit!" (Event, IYS-1-074C): Requires Kagome on field. Draws a card, gives an Inuyasha +1000 BP, rests an active Inuyasha from the front line (to trigger the Rare's self-refresh next activation), and reactivates one of your AP cards. Its trigger removes a 2500 or less BP character from the opponent's front line by sidelining it. This event does a lot of work for its cost.
GODEEPER: If you are weighing whether to import UA50BT now or wait for EN UE23BT on August 14, the cost breakdown covers every format and where to buy. Union Arena InuYasha EN Buying Guide
The August 14 EN launch date gives you a window to plan. Here is the priority order:
4x SR Inuyasha (IYS-1-046SR) - highest priority. No Inuyasha build functions without the SR. It is the finisher. In JP, the base SR has traded between 2500 and 4000 yen per copy. EN pricing will depend on box supply, but expect $20 to $40 per copy at launch. Budget for a playset.
4x Rare Inuyasha (IYS-1-045R) - high priority. The backbone of the mid-game. Rares are typically available below $5 each at EN launch. Get your playset from singles rather than cracking boxes for them.
2 to 4x cost-reducing Uncommon Inuyasha (IYS-1-043U) - medium priority. Uncommons come out of bulk, usually under $1 each. Useful for the empty-field recovery line. Pick these up from bulk singles or pull them from your box.
0 to 2x Tessaiga Uncommon (IYS-1-044U) - situational. Worth owning if you enjoy the Damage (2) style and want to experiment with the Tessaiga sub-card mechanic post-EN translation release. Not a day-one required piece.
Common Inuyasha (IYS-1-042C) - skip for competitive. Under $0.25 each, effectively free in bulk lots. Only acquire if you are building a budget or starter-forward list.
For a full breakdown of which InuYasha singles to chase and which to skip across the entire set, see our Union Arena InuYasha best cards to pull guide.
The autograph SR★★ and SR★★★ versions of the SR Inuyasha are collector targets. They are functionally identical to the base SR. If you are playing for competition, buy 4x base SR. If you are collecting, the autograph versions will be the most expensive pulls in UE23BT.
How many Inuyasha character cards are in UA50BT? There are 5 Inuyasha character cards in the UA50BT set: one Common (C), two Uncommon (U), one Rare (R), and one Super Rare (SR). Each version serves a different role, from a cheap trigger piece to the primary SR finisher with Raid and Double Attack.
Which Inuyasha card is the best in the UA50BT set? The SR Inuyasha (IYS-1-046) is the top competitive pick. It has Raid (enters active and moves to front line), draws a card when it attacks unblocked, and can gain Impact (1) plus Double Attack on the turn it is played. It closes games by itself and is the primary finisher in Counter Rush builds.
What does the Tessaiga mechanic do on the Uncommon Inuyasha? The Uncommon Inuyasha at IYS-1-044 places a face-down Tessaiga card underneath itself once per turn while on the front line. It cannot block if it has no face-down cards underneath it, and it carries Damage (2), dealing extra life damage when it attacks through. The exact Tessaiga sub-card text is pending EN translation.
Can I run multiple Inuyasha versions in the same deck? Yes. Most competitive Counter Rush builds run 4x SR Inuyasha as the primary finisher, 4x Rare Inuyasha as a mid-game tempo piece, and 2 to 4 copies of the cost-reducing Uncommon Inuyasha as an early-game option. The Common is mainly used in starter deck or budget lists.
Does Kagome Higurashi work specifically with Inuyasha cards? Yes. The SR Kagome Higurashi (IYS-1-066) deploys a red Inuyasha or Kagome character from hand when she enters the field. The Rare Kagome (IYS-1-065) searches the top 4 cards of your deck for an Inuyasha or Kagome card. Both cards treat the Inuyasha name as a direct synergy target.
When does the English version (UE23BT) release? The English InuYasha set (UE23BT) releases August 14, 2026. It is functionally identical to the Japanese UA50BT that released May 29, 2026. All card abilities translate directly.
Is the Inuyasha UA50BT set red or purple? The set splits across two colors. The hero faction (Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Kirara, Koga) is Red. The villain faction including Naraku, Sesshomaru, and Kanna is Purple. Most competitive builds focus on Red, though Hybrid lists mix both.
