Union Arena Chainsaw Man Best Cards to Pull (2026)

Updated October 19, 2026: rebuilt around TCGplayer prices (October 18 market data) and Bandai's card list. The old version called Action Point cards a rarity "unrelated" to the AP you pay with, which was wrong, and it never named an actual card.

These are TCGplayer market prices, which track recent sales, as of October 18, 2026. Stars (★) mark the alt-art prints.

Read the top of that table with care. These cards trade a handful of times, so one sale moves the number. The two-star Reze is the clearest case: its listings have a median asking price of $1,800, far above what it has actually sold for. Price the exact print you want on the day you buy.

What the stars mean

Bandai's product page says only that "alt-art card types are included." TCGplayer files them as 1-Star, 2-Star and 3-Star versions of Commons, Uncommons, Rares and Super Rares. The set has one 3-star card (this Makima), five two-star Super Rares and three two-star Rares.

A star print plays exactly like the plain card. Same number, same cost, same BP, same text. What changes is the art and the finish, and on the 3-star Makima, a foil-stamped signature across the art. Bandai sells the set on "foil-stamped signature cards of the anime voice cast," and that's what you're paying for. The plain Makima (024) Super Rare goes for $0.57.

Bandai doesn't publish pull rates for any star print, so nobody can honestly tell you your odds of a 3-star in a box. Our Union Arena rarities explainer covers how the star tiers work across every set.

Action Point cards are the AP you play with

The old version of this page got this backwards. Action Point cards aren't a separate rarity that happens to share a name with the resource. They are the resource. Every player brings three AP cards that sit outside the 50-card deck, and card text spends them: Reze (031), for one, can "switch one of your AP cards to active." Any AP card works the same in a game, so the 12 AP designs in this booster are purely collectibles.

A few of them are a real chase. Bandai's product page says "a limited number of serial-numbered, hand-signed Action Point cards" are in packs "at an extremely low pull rate." On spotting them, Reddit user TheMeatyBeans wrote about an earlier set that "the only ones that have a star at the bottom left will be the numbered/serial APs." Look for the number and the signature in the photos before you pay serial prices.

TCGplayer only lists six of the twelve AP designs so far (AP01 to AP06), at about $54 to $188. Its listings don't say which art each one is, so check the photo.

Box toppers: look for silver

Each box comes with one of eight topper designs, five foil and three silver foil, according to Bandai. (One line of the same page says gold foil; TCGplayer lists them as silver.) The five plain foil toppers sell for about a dollar. The three silver ones are one-star prints of Reze, Chainsaw Man and Makima, and all three are in the table above. Bandai doesn't say how often each design turns up.

Open boxes or buy singles?

Bandai's price is $4.99 for a 12-card pack, 16 packs to a box, so $79.84 a box at MSRP. The sealed box's TCGplayer market price is about $154, and loose packs go for $10.51 each. At those prices you're paying for the hunt.

Our take

Buy the card, not the box. The money in this set sits in nine two- and three-star prints and three silver toppers, and Bandai won't say how rare any of them are. If you want the signed Makima, the single is the only sure way to get it. If you want to play, buy the regular Super Rares you need; every one costs less than a pack. And if you're picking one Chainsaw Man deck to build, we'd start with Reze. Open packs because you enjoy opening them, not because you expect to come out ahead.
