Union Arena Re:ZERO Buying Guide: Box, Deck, or Singles

A month after launch, the starter deck sells under MSRP and a box costs about a quarter more than its 16 packs at MSRP.

Our callStart with the UE24ST starter deck, buy singles for your list, and only buy a UE24BT box if you want to open one; loose packs are the worst buy.

This Union Arena Re:ZERO buying guide comes down to one order of purchase: start with the UE24ST starter deck, fill your list with singles, and buy a UE24BT box only if you want to open one. A month after the September 18 release, the starter sells for less than its MSRP, a sealed box runs about a quarter over its pack MSRP, and single packs are the worst value of the three. Launch dates and the prerelease week are on our Union Arena Re:ZERO release date and prerelease page.

Official English Union Arena Re:ZERO UE24ST starter deck box featuring Emilia

Updated October 16, 2026: we replaced the launch-week preorder snapshot with TCGplayer market prices from October 15, 2026, re-checked every product fact on Bandai's official pages, and cut the step-by-step and checklist sections that repeated each other.

What each product is

ProductCodeMSRPContents
Booster packUE24BT$4.9912 cards
Booster display boxUE24BT16 packs1 of 9 box topper designs (6 foil, 3 gold foil)
Starter deckUE24ST$11.9950-card deck, 3 AP cards, playsheet, Starter Deck Rare Card Promo Pack

The booster set has 100 card types plus 6 AP types: 35 Common, 35 Uncommon, 18 Rare and 12 Super Rare, with alt-arts, voice-cast autograph cards and serial-numbered hand-signed AP cards at what Bandai calls "an extremely low pull rate." A case is 16 display boxes. The starter deck lists 18 card types plus 1 AP type, so you get repeats by design.

What it costs now

TCGplayer market prices, October 15, 2026:

ProductMarket priceAgainst MSRP
UE24BT booster box$102.43$79.84 at pack MSRP
UE24BT booster pack$10.37$4.99
UE24ST starter deck$10.98$11.99

Three things stand out. The starter deck is the only product below MSRP. A box is about 28% over 16 packs at MSRP, which is a normal launch premium. And loose packs are the trap: at market price, 16 of them cost $165.92, far more than a sealed box. If you want to open Re:ZERO, open a box.

Bar chart of TCGplayer market prices against MSRP: booster box $102.43 vs $79.84, pack $10.37 vs $4.99, starter deck $10.98 vs $11.99 Chart: ShonenTCG. Source: TCGplayer market prices, October 15, 2026 (tcgcsv.com daily export); MSRP from Bandai's UE24BT and UE24ST product pages.

Why the starter deck is the first buy

The starter deck isn't just a cheap 50 cards. It comes with a Starter Deck Rare Card Promo Pack, and some of the starter line's Rare cards already sell for more than the deck: on October 15 the foil 1-star Rem (UE24ST/REZ-1-110) had a TCGplayer market price of $22.60, and the foil 1-star Echidna (113) $11.48. The deck itself includes the Felt SR (UE24ST/REZ-1-107), so you also get a playable Yellow core to build on. That's why it sits under MSRP and still feels like the best value in the line: you're buying a deck with a small lottery attached, not a lottery with no deck.

Where the money in the box is

The box price is driven by a few chase cards, not by the playables. On October 15, the 2-star Super Rare versions led the set: Rem (UE24BT/REZ-1-019) at $417.07, Ram (011) at $416.12 and Emilia (027) at $407.37. The gold foil box toppers ran well below those. You can't plan around pulling any of them, and Bandai says plainly that which cards are included is random.

Buyers who opened boxes describe exactly that gamble. Under Legends of Union Arena's box opening, @ericmontes4280 wrote: "Decided to spend $115 on a Re:Zero box and by the 4th to last pack, I opened a 2 star Beatrice". Another viewer, @teenymite8358, had the opposite run: "I already spent 30 on 4 packs total and only a sr ram."

BlaisePlaysTCG opened an English box early, before release:

Before you pay

Check the code (UE24BT for English boosters, UE24ST for the English starter), whether it's one pack, a display or a case, and whether it's factory sealed. Then compare the delivered price, with shipping and tax, against the table above. Cards are tournament legal from the prerelease date in your region, so English singles bought now are usable at events.

Our take: for a player, the starter deck at under MSRP is the easy first buy, and singles do the rest. The base playables of a new set are rarely where the money is. Buy a sealed box only if you want the opening, and go in treating the extra over MSRP as the price of the fun. Skip loose packs at current prices: the same money buys most of a box.

GODEEPER: The Union Arena Re:ZERO EN tier list helps you pick which deck to build before you shop for singles.

How we checked this: 20 facts checked on October 16, 2026, against Bandai's official UE24BT and UE24ST product pages and TCGplayer market prices from October 15, 2026 (via the tcgcsv.com daily export). Last reviewed: October 16, 2026.
