EB-05 Booster Box Price: $318 Pre-Order vs $120 MSRP

More than two and a half times MSRP before a single pack is opened, and the cards that justify it are SP lottery tickets.

5 min readBy Mika Santos

Our callAt $318 an EB-05 box costs $13.24 a pack against a $4.99 MSRP. Only buy one if you want to chase the SP cards. For playing, buy Ripley, Alvida and the other singles your deck needs.

The EB-05 booster box price on TCGplayer was $317.86 on October 25, five days before the October 30 release, down from $348.26 on October 21. At Bandai's MSRP of $4.99 a pack, the same 24 packs would cost $119.76. So the market wants 2.7 times MSRP for a box nobody has opened yet. Here is where that number comes from, how the first Heroines set held up, and when paying it makes sense.

Official EB-05 Heroines Edition vol.2 booster packs and display box from Bandai's product page

TL;DR: TCGplayer market price on October 25: $317.86 per EB-05 box, $20.05 per loose pack, $3,660.56 per case. MSRP is $4.99 a pack, or $119.76 for a 24-pack box. EB-03, the first Heroines Edition, still sells at $307.59 a box eight months after release, held up by three SP cards worth $1,300 to $1,430 each.

EB-05 booster box price before release

Bandai's EB-05 product page lists the set at "USD $4.99 per pack", releasing October 30, 2026, with "75+2 types in total". The box art reads 24 packs per box, as our EB-05 release guide covers. Bandai prints no box MSRP, so $119.76 is just 24 packs at the pack price.

TCGplayer's market prices, from the tcgcsv.com daily file of October 25, 2026, with the October 21 file for comparison:

The box lost about $30 in four days while packs and cases barely moved. A box now works out to $13.24 a pack, so it's almost $7 a pack cheaper than buying loose packs at market ($481.20 for 24). And the case costs about 11.5 boxes at the box market price, so cases aren't a discount either.

Some stores price below TCGplayer, but you mostly can't get those boxes. A r/OnePieceTCG thread from October 16 compared EB-05 pre-orders across 143 US stores and found only 2 still taking orders, with boxes from $299.99.

Why the box costs so far above MSRP: the EB-03 precedent

EB-05 is the second Heroines Edition. The first, EB-03, shows why buyers pay up. TCGplayer lists it with a release date of February 20, 2026. Eight months later its box still sells at $307.59 and its case at $3,578.32, with loose packs at $11.78.

The chase cards carry it. TCGplayer's top EB-03 singles on October 25:

EB-03 cardVersionMarket
Nico Robin EB03-055SP$1,427.95
Boa Hancock EB03-026SP$1,421.01
Nami EB03-053SP$1,305.42
Uta EB03-061Manga$936.22
Nefeltari Vivi EB03-024SP$433.83

Seven EB-03 cards sell above $300, and all seven are SP or Manga printings. The regular cards don't hold up the box. Bandai's page for EB-05 lists Special Cards and Secret Rares among its rarities, so EB-05 has the same lottery, and pre-order buyers are pricing it as a repeat of EB-03.

What EB-05 singles cost before release

Only 21 EB-05 singles have a TCGplayer market price so far, and none of them is an SP. The SP Nico Robin EB05-016 already has a listing at $2,999.99, but no sales yet to set a market price. The highest are three Super Rares: Nico Robin EB05-016 at $29.99, and EB05-001EB05-001 card artEB05-001Shop on TCGplayer Jewelry Bonney and EB05-021EB05-021 card artEB05-021Shop on TCGplayer Alvida at $24.99 each. EB05-046EB05-046 card artEB05-046Shop on TCGplayer Yamato also showed $24.99 on October 21 but has no price on the October 25 file. The Robin Leader is $9.99. Rares like EB05-047EB05-047 card artEB05-047Shop on TCGplayer Ripley list at $5.99. These are fixed pre-order prices, the same figure for market and lowest listing, so they tell you what sellers ask before release rather than what the cards are worth.

That matters for players. In the first two EB-05 online events, Ripley was in 25 of 248 decklists and Alvida in 19, per our EB-05 card list. A playset of four Ripley at pre-order prices is $23.96, less than two loose packs. Singles may get cheaper once boxes are opened, but even at today's prices a playset beats chasing it in packs.

What players are saying

The pre-order thread is mostly unhappy. The top comment, from u/Kitsuraw: "The fact that people are that desperate to pay that much for a box. It’s become just like magic, overpriced boxes for a lottery ticket at a couple cards worth more than what you paid."

u/LazyKarasu made the player's case: "whenever a set is this desperately wanted, the non-alt art singles quickly flood the market and drop the prices of everything but the alt arts."

Our take

At $318, an EB-05 box is a bet on SP cards, not a way to build decks. You pay $13.24 a pack for a $4.99 product, and the cards that kept EB-03 expensive were SP and Manga prints. If you play, skip the box and buy the singles your deck needs; if u/LazyKarasu is right, regular cards get cheaper once opened boxes hit the market. If you collect and want a shot at the SPs, a store box near $300 still beats TCGplayer's $318, and loose packs at $20 are the worst deal of all. Prices here are TCGplayer market prices as of October 25, 2026; the box already fell $30 in the four days before that, and pre-release prices move fast.
