OP14-041
OP14-041Shop on TCGplayer Boa Hancock has been played since OP-14, and the Blue Yellow Hancock deck is still putting up wins in OP-17. This guide starts from the October 3, 2026 decklist that won a Standard Battle in the Asia region and counts how many of its cards can put a Character into play during your opponent's turn. That count decides how often Hancock's leader effect draws you a card.

TL;DR: Blue Yellow Hancock (OP14-041) draws a card whenever you play a Character on your opponent's turn, and 21 of the 50 cards in the October 3 winning list have a Trigger that can do exactly that. OPMetagame placed the deck in A tier with 47 decklists on October 8, 2026. The full list, its role cards and a turn-by-turn plan are below.
Blue Yellow Hancock Deck: Quick Answer
The Blue Yellow Hancock deck is a Yellow-heavy trigger deck that turns your opponent's attacks into card draw. Its Life Triggers play Kuja Pirates Characters for free, and Hancock draws a card each time that happens on their turn. A secondary effect pulls cards out of the opponent's Life when your bigger Kuja Pirates Characters are K.O.'d, so trades also cost them Life.
Key Takeaways
- Boa Hancock OP14-041 is a Blue/Yellow Leader with 4 Life, 5000 power and the Seven Warlords of the Sea and Kuja Pirates types
- Her first effect draws 1 card whenever you play a Character during your opponent's turn
- Her second effect needs 1 DON!! attached and works once per turn: when one of your Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates Characters with 5000 or more base power is K.O.'d, the top card of the opponent's Life goes to their hand
- The October 3, 2026 winning list runs 43 Characters and 7 Events, and 21 of its cards carry a Trigger that can put a Character into play
- OPMetagame showed the deck in A tier with 47 decklists on October 8, 2026, with no Hancock results from Limitless-tracked Regionals in the OP-17 format yet
- Every card in the sample list is Standard legal (Blocks 2 to 5) and none is on the current banned list
Overview: How Boa Hancock's Leader Ability Works
Hancock's leader card has two separate effects, and the Blue Yellow Hancock deck is built around the first one. The official text reads: "[Opponent's Turn] When you play a Character, draw 1 card." There is no cost and no once-per-turn limit printed on that line. Each time a Character enters play on your opponent's turn, you draw.
Image: Bandai official card list (OP14-041). The top line is the draw engine, the second punishes K.O.s on your Kuja Pirates Characters.
The second effect reads: "[DON!! x1] [Once Per Turn] When one of your {Amazon Lily} or {Kuja Pirates} type Characters with 5000 base power or more is K.O.'d, add up to 1 card from the top of your opponent's Life cards to the owner's hand." So when your opponent removes one of your 5000-power Kuja Pirates bodies, they lose a Life card too, as long as Hancock has a DON!! card attached at that moment. That is why players often leave one DON!! on the Leader at the end of their turn instead of spending everything.
The two effects work together. Your opponent attacks into your Life and flips a Trigger that plays a Character, and you draw. If they then K.O. that Character to clear the board, they lose a Life card as well. Attacking and removing both cost them something.
Building the Blue Yellow Hancock Deck: The October 3 List
This 50-card Blue Yellow Hancock deck won a Standard Battle on October 3, 2026, piloted by Koushi, and is recorded on OPMetagame as an ASIA-version event. It is the most recent Hancock win the tracker shows. Four cards are Blue (the 4-cost Hancock, Nami OP11-054, Gravity Blade Raging Tiger and Perfume Femur). Everything else is Yellow.

The 43 Characters and 7 Events add up to 50. A second winning list, from a CS Store Qualifier on September 27, 2026 piloted by Haruharu, keeps the same core: four copies each of Boa Marigold, Charlotte Pudding, Roronoa Zoro and Shakuyaku, plus Gorgon Sisters, Ran and Gecko Moria. The Trigger Package: Why 21 Is the Number That Matters

Two more Characters play something else from their Trigger.
OP14-112
OP14-112Shop on TCGplayer Boa Hancock's Trigger plays a Character with 6000 power or less and a Trigger from your hand (2 copies).
OP14-104
OP14-104Shop on TCGplayer Gecko Moria's Trigger plays a Character with a cost of 4 or less from your trash (2 copies). Add those four to the 17 and you get 21 of 50 cards, 42% of the deck, that can turn an opponent's hit into a Character entering play on their turn. Each of those is a Hancock draw.
This explains a couple of choices in the Blue Yellow Hancock deck that look odd on paper. Gecko Moria's On Play effect looks for Thriller Bark Pirates, and the list runs none. Moria is there for the 10000-power body and the Trigger, not the On Play.
OP17-109
OP17-109Shop on TCGplayer Charlotte Pudding's On Play asks you to trash a card with a Trigger from your hand to draw 3. In a deck where more than 40% of the cards have Triggers, that cost is rarely a problem.

Life Sculpting: Zoro, Hiyori and the Big Hancock
The Blue Yellow Hancock deck also arranges what sits in its Life. Roronoa Zoro (OP15-113) trashes a card from your hand to add the top card of your deck to the top of your Life. Kouzuki Hiyori (OP06-106) and Gloriosa both let you take a Life card into your hand and put a card from your hand on top of your Life, which means you can place a Trigger card you are holding exactly where your opponent's next attack will land.
The 9-cost Boa Hancock (OP14-112) is the swing card. With a Seven Warlords Leader, its On Play adds the top card of your deck to your Life and then sends the top card of your opponent's Life to their hand. That single play moves Life by two cards in your favor.

Players who run the deck say this Life setup is where opponents slip. After a 5-0 night at locals, the poster of an r/OnePieceTCG Boa thread explained a win over Black Teach this way: "they didnt use lead effect right off rip letting me set up gorgon sisters into life" (Reddit comment). The question that prompted it shows how lopsided that matchup can look from the other side: "How did you win Black Teach? Feels like a 10-90 matchup against a competent player" (Reddit comment). Both are one player's local results, not tracker data.
Step-by-Step: Piloting the Blue Yellow Hancock Deck
1. Mulligan for Pudding or Zoro. Your early turns are about card flow and Life setup. Charlotte Pudding draws three, and Zoro adds Life. A hand with neither is the one to send back.
2. Leave one DON!! on Hancock. Before you pass the turn, attach one DON!! card to your Leader when you can spare it. That switches on her Life-removal effect for your opponent's turn.
3. Put a Trigger on top of your Life. Use Kouzuki Hiyori when your Life is low enough that your opponent will attack it. A known Trigger on top turns their next attack into a free Character and a draw.
4. Spread DON!! with Gorgon Sisters and Ran. Gorgon Sisters gives your Leader and every Character up to one rested DON!! card if you reveal three Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates cards from your hand. Ran gives one rested DON!! to a Kuja Pirates card. Both let a wide board attack harder on the same turn.
5. Close with the 9-cost Hancock. Once your opponent is at 3 or fewer Life, Shakuyaku draws 2 and trashes 2 on play, and the big Hancock takes a Life card from them while adding one to yours. Use Perfume Femur on a Seven Warlords attacker so your opponent cannot use Blocker on that attack.
Tips for the OP-17 Format
- Count your opponent's removal before you overextend with the Blue Yellow Hancock deck. Your Life-removal effect only fires on K.O.s of 5000-plus base power Kuja Pirates or Amazon Lily Characters. Bounce or rest effects do not trigger it.
- Boa Marigold is a Blocker only at 2 or fewer Life. Do not count on her as a Blocker early in the game.
- Do not trash all your Triggers to Pudding. The draw is strong, but every Trigger you trash is one fewer card that can play itself from Life later.
- Nami OP11-054 needs a multicolored Leader. Hancock is Blue/Yellow, so the Blocker draws three and puts two back, which smooths both your hand and your deck top.
- Mind the October 12 ban. OP14-020 Dracule Mihawk, the most-played leader on OPMetagame's tier list (318 decklists on October 8), becomes banned on October 12, 2026. How that shifts matchups for Hancock is not yet in the data. See our OP-17 meta tier list for the current snapshot.
Where the Deck Sits in the OP-17 Meta
On OPMetagame's tier list, checked October 8, 2026, the Blue Yellow Hancock deck is in A tier with 47 decklists. That puts it behind the S-tier group (Green Mihawk, Red/Black Sabo, Blue Rocks, Purple/Yellow Nico Robin, Black Luffy and Purple Enel) and alongside Purple Kaido (101 decklists) and Red Ace (69). The tracker's Hancock page shows OP-17 results across September and into October, mostly store-level wins in the Asia region.
What is missing is a large-event result in the OP-17 format. Limitless lists Hancock finishes at Regionals in Mesquite (March 2026) and Utrecht (July 2026), plus Melbourne, all in formats before OP-17. The most recent OP-17 data comes from smaller events, so the A-tier label reflects a solid, consistent deck rather than a proven Regional winner. For the wider context, the Blue Yellow color guide covers what else the pairing can do, and the current banlist has the exact dates.
GODEEPER: Hancock's main OP-17 rivals are on the same tracker. Compare her with the format's top Purple/Yellow leader. OP-17 Nico Robin Deck Guide →
Our take
Based on the card text, the two OP-17 lists and the tracker numbers above: Blue Yellow Hancock is a deck for players who like planning around their own Life, not for players who want a proven Regional pick. The 21-Trigger engine and the Hiyori and Zoro Life setup are real and visible on the card text. What the deck lacks is an OP-17 result above store level. If your local field is heavy on Mihawk refugees after October 12, the deck's A-tier consistency is worth testing. If you are travelling to a Regional, wait for the first post-ban results before committing.
How we checked this
Every card effect above was read on Bandai's official card list, the decklists and tier numbers on OPMetagame (October 8 snapshot), the pre-OP-17 Regional results on Limitless, the format rules on Bandai's Block Number page and restriction notice, and the player quotes on r/OnePieceTCG. That is 4 independent sources. Last reviewed: October 8, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Blue Yellow Hancock leader do? Boa Hancock (OP14-041) is a 5000-power, 4-Life Blue/Yellow Leader. On your opponent's turn she draws 1 card whenever you play a Character. With 1 DON!! attached, once per turn, a K.O. on one of your 5000-plus base power Kuja Pirates or Amazon Lily Characters sends the top card of the opponent's Life to their hand.
Is Blue Yellow Hancock good in OP-17? It is a solid second-tier pick. OPMetagame's tier list, checked on October 8, 2026, places Blue/Yellow Boa Hancock in A tier with 47 decklists, behind the S-tier group led by Green Mihawk. Its recent OP-17 wins come from Asia-region store events, so treat it as proven at that level rather than at Regionals.
How does the Hancock deck draw cards on the opponent's turn? Through Life Triggers that play Characters. Boa Marigold, Gorgon Sisters, Shakuyaku and Ran each read "If your Leader has the Kuja Pirates type, play this card." When an attack flips one of them from your Life, it enters play during your opponent's turn, and Hancock draws you a card.
Is Boa Hancock OP14-041 legal in Standard? Yes. The official card list shows OP14-041 with Block icon 4, and Standard tournaments from April 2026 to March 2027 use Blocks 2 through 5. None of the cards in the sample list appear on Bandai's banned list or banned-pair list as of October 8, 2026, so the full list is tournament legal.
Why does the Hancock deck run Gecko Moria with no Thriller Bark cards? For the Trigger and the body. Gecko Moria (OP14-104) is a 10000-power Seven Warlords Character, and its Trigger plays a Character with a cost of 4 or less from your trash. On your opponent's turn that counts as playing a Character, so it also feeds Hancock's draw effect.
