BCG Fest Dallas: One Piece TCG Season 1 Finals Preview
Mihawk won the last big event before his ban. Here's what Dallas looked like and why it still matters.

Nicky Goldman won BCG Fest Dallas, the North American Championship 26-27 Season 1 Finals, with Green Dracule Mihawk, beating Yonas Abraham's Enel in the final on September 19. Five days later Bandai announced that Mihawk is banned from October 12. So the deck that won North America's Season 1 Finals can't be played anymore. The rest of the weekend still tells you a lot about where One Piece is heading into OP-18.

Third place in the Finals went to XIXO, also on Enel, so two of the top three were Purple Enel. Goldman marked the win the same evening on X: "I'M A NATIONAL CHAMPION!!" North America's top eight from the Season 1 Finals earn invitations to the World Championship 26-27.

The winning Mihawk list
Goldman's list was a classic ramp build: 36 Characters, 11 Events and 3 Coffin Boat. The core was full sets of Shanks, Trafalgar Law, Yasopp, Kouzuki Oden, Kawamatsu, Vander Decken IX, Perona, Kin'emon and Otama, plus 4 You Can Be My Samurai!!. Mihawk's leader rests one of your cards to set up to 3 DON!! as active if there's a Character costing 5 or more on the field, and then you can't play Characters that turn. Those extra DON!! pay for big Events a turn early.
On r/OnePieceTCG the reaction was mostly surprise. One reply under the decklists: "Dam that's wild, I would never expect these decks to be top placed". Another player explained why the Finals field looked different from the Coliseum: "you had to place in a regional or store championship to earn entry. Flame flame was open to anyone."

The ban that followed
On September 24, Bandai added OP14-020 Dracule Mihawk to the banned list, effective October 12, alt arts included. Its reason was that newer boosters made some of his combinations stronger than planned, and that he squeezed out other Slash leaders. Dallas didn't cause the ban as far as anyone can show, but it was the last big stage he won on before it. If you played Mihawk, the banlist explainer covers what's legal now.
How the weekend ran

The Fest ran September 18-20 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Hall B/C. The Finals were invite-only, with a Preliminary Round into a Top 32 cut. Everyone needed a Pre-Registered Competitor Pass, and there was no general entry at the door. The Flame-Flame Fruit Coliseum ran alongside it, open to anyone who registered, and SPZ_Daniel's Robin win made Purple/Yellow Robin two for two after the same leader won the European Coliseum in Utrecht.
Bandai also sold Coliseum-themed products on site: a Premium Card Collection, a playmat, two sleeve designs and a storage box.
Our take
Dallas is the best snapshot of the pre-ban format you'll get, and it says Purple is what's left standing. Enel took second and third, and Robin won the open event. With Mihawk gone, those are the decks we'd test against first, and our Purple Enel deck guide and Nico Robin deck guide are where we'd start. Limitless still has no Dallas results page, so for full standings you're waiting on Bandai.
