Boa Hancock EB05 Decklist: Two Trigger Builds After EB-05

Two Hancock builds took 1st at EB-05 events. Both cost about $287, and half of that is Borsalino.

17 min readBy Kai Tanaka

Our callCopy volkiso's 7-0 list: it's the Pudding and Moria build 15 of 19 lists played, and he went 11-2 with it. EB-05 adds two copies of a $0.61 Rare; Borsalino is half the $286 bill.

The Boa Hancock EB05 decklist to copy is volkiso's: 1st of 128 at [EB05] ChinoizeCup #124 on October 19, seven wins and no losses, with the blue/yellow OP14-041OP14-041 card artOP14-041Shop on TCGplayer Boa Hancock Leader from OP-14. He took the same 50 cards to a 4-2 at ChinoizeCup #127 a week later, so the list is 11-2 across two events. EB-05 gave the deck one card, the 4-cost EB05-028EB05-028 card artEB05-028Shop on TCGplayer Boa Hancock, and 17 of the 19 Hancock lists in EB-05 events ran it, 13 of them at exactly two copies. The other list to know is lilykei's 5-1 from November 3, a different build around Kouzuki Hiyori that matches a Japanese 6-0 list card for card. All 19 lists went 36-38-1 combined, and one player's six lists account for 2-14 of that. Below: volkiso's list with a reason and a price for every card, the Trigger math behind the Leader, lilykei's build, what EB05-028 does, the DON!! curve, and the record by opposing Leader.

volkiso's 7-0 list, with a reason for every card

This is volkiso's list from ChinoizeCup #124, a 128-player, seven-round, best-of-one Swiss event on the simulator. His seven wins came against a Kaido, two Luffy ST10-002, two Rocks, an Enel and a Sabo. Prices are TCGplayer market prices for each card's base printing via tcgcsv, updated November 4.

Four EB04-058EB04-058 card artEB04-058Shop on TCGplayer Borsalino are $146.96 of the $286.33, 51% of the list on their own. Moria, the OP14-112 Hancock and Kuma add another $91.46. The sixteen Trigger bodies that make the Leader work (Ran, Marigold, Gorgon Sisters, Shakuyaku) cost $3.00 together. Borsalino was in all 19 lists at four copies, so there's no cheaper version of this deck that the event players agreed on.

Bar chart of what each card line costs in volkiso's Boa Hancock list at November 4 TCGplayer market prices: Borsalino $146.96 at the top, then Gecko Moria $43.24, Boa Hancock OP14-112 $25.84 and Bartholomew Kuma $22.38 Image credit: Shonen TCG chart from TCGplayer market prices via tcgcsv, November 4, 2026.

The Leader turns Trigger flips into extra cards

Bandai's card list gives the Leader two lines. The first: "[Opponent's Turn] When you play a Character, draw 1 card." The second, with 1 DON!! attached and once per turn: when one of your Amazon Lily or Kuja Pirates Characters with 5000 base power or more is K.O.'d, "add up to 1 card from the top of your opponent's Life cards to the owner's hand."

The usual way to play a Character on your opponent's turn is a Trigger. OP14-114OP14-114 card artOP14-114Shop on TCGplayer Ran, OP16-113OP16-113 card artOP16-113Shop on TCGplayer Boa Marigold, OP14-105OP14-105 card artOP14-105Shop on TCGplayer Gorgon Sisters and OP14-107OP14-107 card artOP14-107Shop on TCGplayer Shakuyaku all read "[Trigger] If your Leader has the {Kuja Pirates} type, play this card." When an attack takes one of them off your Life, it comes into play as a 5000-power Character and the Leader draws you a card. All four are Kuja Pirates or Amazon Lily with 5000 base power, so when the opponent K.O.s one later, with a DON!! on the Leader, their own top Life card goes to their hand. Gloriosa (Grandma Nyon) has the shorter "[Trigger] Play this card.", so she counts for the draw too. She has no power, though, so a K.O.'d Gloriosa doesn't set up the K.O. line.

That makes 20 self-playing Trigger Characters in volkiso's 50 cards. Here's how many land in your starting 4 Life cards, counted exactly:

Trigger Characters in your starting LifeChance
011.9%
135.3%
235.9%
314.9%
42.1%

At least one in 88.1% of games, two or more in 52.8%, 1.60 on average. Across all 19 lists the count ran from 14 to 20: six lists had 20, four had 19, three had 18, five had 16 and one had 14. The six lists with 20 went 17-10, but 11 of those wins are volkiso's, so read that as one good player more than a rule.

Gloriosa and Hiyori choose the next Life card

Picking which card sits on top of your Life is the second half of the engine. Gloriosa (Grandma Nyon) OP14-103 and Kouzuki Hiyori OP06-106 have the same On Play: "You may add 1 card from the top or bottom of your Life cards to your hand: Add up to 1 card from your hand to the top of your Life cards." Both cost 2. Put a Trigger Character on top and the next Life card the opponent flips is a body plus a draw. volkiso runs four Gloriosa; lilykei runs four Hiyori. Seventeen of the 19 lists ran at least two of one or the other. The exceptions were yolomoustachio's two lists, with neither.

We ran both lists through 100,000 simulated games per line and counted how often the top Life card is a self-playing Trigger Character at the end of each of your turns. The model plays the swap card as soon as it holds one plus a different Trigger Character and has 2 DON!!. It takes no mulligan and ignores every card drawn from effects (the Leader, Pudding, Nami, Shakuyaku), so these numbers are a floor.

The swap card moves the top Life card from a 40% Trigger to about 63% by your turn 2 going first, or by your turn 1 going second. The two builds come out within a point of each other, so the Gloriosa-or-Hiyori choice is about the rest of the card. Gloriosa is $0.11, a 1000 Counter and a Trigger herself; Hiyori is $4.10 with a 2000 Counter and no Trigger. Blanking volkiso's four Gloriosa would also remove four Triggers and drop the dealt rate to 32%, which is why she's the cheaper and better fit for his list.

lilykei's 5-1 build swaps Pudding and Moria for Hiyori and Rindo

lilykei's list took 2nd of 53 at ChinoizeCup #131 on November 3, a six-round, best-of-one Swiss event on the simulator. It beat Enel, Rocks, a Luffy OP13-001, a Marshall.D.Teach OP09-081 and a Luffy ST10-002, and lost to the second Luffy OP13-001 it met. Thirty of its 50 cards match volkiso's. The other twenty:

OP14-115OP14-115 card artOP14-115Shop on TCGplayer Rindo is a fifth Kuja Trigger body. If the opponent K.O.s him on their turn, his text adds your top card to your Life and then "you take 1 damage." Nami EB03-053 gives the Leader a rested DON!! and, while the opponent has 3 or more Life, moves their top Life card to their hand. Boa Hancock ST17-004 is a 6000-power Blocker that looks at your top 3 cards, places them at the top or bottom of your deck in any order, and gives a rested DON!! to one of your Seven Warlords Leader or Character cards. lilykei's list costs $287.27, 94 cents more than volkiso's. Borsalino is $146.96 of it again, and four Nami EB03-053 add $50.28.

The field mostly built volkiso's Pudding and Moria shape. Zoro was in 18 of 19 lists, Pudding and Moria in 15 each. Rindo and Nami EB03-053 were in one list each: lilykei's. Hiyori was in seven. lilykei's list is, card for card, the one OPDeckGuide records for a 1st place (6-0) at an Overseas(61) shop event in Japan on October 31, three days before ChinoizeCup #131, in Japan's EB05 + OP18 format. The same site lists Soumen's 1st place at a Grandpanda Standard Battle on November 3 with volkiso's shape: four Pudding, four Zoro, four Moria, plus three Nojiko EB05-057 and one EB05-028. Both builds took 1st in Japan the same week.

EB-05 gave Hancock one Rare, and most lists play two

Boa Hancock EB05-028 is a 4-cost Blue Character with 5000 power and a 1000 Counter, typed Impel Down, Seven Warlords and Kuja Pirates. Its On Play: "If your opponent has 9 or more cards in their hand, they trash 4 cards from their hand." Seventeen of the 19 lists ran it; lilykei ran three. It costs $0.61.

Hancock's own cards help with that condition. Three of its effects push the opponent's Life cards into their hand: the Leader's K.O. line, the On Play of OP14-112OP14-112 card artOP14-112Shop on TCGplayer Boa Hancock, and Nami EB03-053 in lilykei's build. Each one is a card the opponent didn't draw, so their hand grows while their Life shrinks. On the turns the opponent has 8 or fewer, EB05-028 is still a 5000-power Kuja Pirates body, which counts for the Leader's K.O. line, and a 1000 Counter. We didn't model opposing hand sizes, so we can't tell you how often the 9 is there. Of the 19 lists, 13 ran two copies, two ran one, two ran three and two ran none. Two copies cost $1.22, and we'd do the same.

The two lists with none were celix91's 0-3 at ChinoizeCup #124 and aldobo's 2-2-1 (12th) at Rumble league #15. Two other EB-05 cards appeared once each: two EB05-057EB05-057 card artEB05-057Shop on TCGplayer Nojiko in yolomoustachio's 4-3 at #124 and one Gloriosa EB05-052 in mrupperhand's list, 4th of 6 at a German event on November 2.

Turns 1 to 5 on the DON!! curve

Going first you start with 1 DON!! and no draw, then add 2 a turn; going second you start with 2. Neither player battles on their first turn (Bandai comprehensive rules 6-3-1, 6-4-1 and 6-5-6-1). Nothing in volkiso's list costs 1 on your own turn: the cheapest Main-phase cards are Gloriosa at 2 and Perfume Femur at 2. Here are the plays we'd make on his costs:

OP17-109OP17-109 card artOP17-109Shop on TCGplayer Charlotte Pudding's On Play asks you to trash a card with a [Trigger]. 36 of the 50 cards in volkiso's list have one, and the trash it builds is what OP14-104OP14-104 card artOP14-104Shop on TCGplayer Gecko Moria's Trigger reads: "Play up to 1 Character card with a cost of 4 or less from your trash." A Moria flipped from Life on the opponent's turn can bring back a Ran, a Gloriosa or a Pudding, and since that's playing a Character on the opponent's turn, the Leader draws as well. Moria's own On Play only brings back a Thriller Bark Pirates Character costing 4 or less, and volkiso's list has none, so he's there for that Trigger and the 10000 body.

Boa Hancock OP14-112 is the turn-5 play in both builds, in all 19 lists at 3.89 copies on average. With a Seven Warlords Leader, its On Play adds your top card to your Life, then moves the opponent's top Life card to their hand. Its Trigger plays a Character with 6000 power or less and a [Trigger] from your hand.

Total36-38-1

The total hides a split. celix91 played Hancock in six of the 12 events and went 2-14. The other 13 lists went 34-24-1, and volkiso's two lists are 11-2 of that. So the deck isn't the losing record the total suggests, though most of the winning sits with two players.

Rocks was the most played Leader at 99 of 570 lists, and Hancock went 5-6 against it; our Rocks.D.Xebec deck guide covers what it does. Luffy OP13, second at 73 lists, was 4-6. The clear loss is Buggy at 1-5; if your store has one, our Buggy EB05 decklist is the list to practice against. Against Luffy ST10-002 Hancock went 4-1, and two of those four wins were volkiso's. Six games against one Leader isn't much, but Buggy is the only one of the eight named above where Hancock lost by more than two.

Our take: copy volkiso's list, and price Borsalino first

We'd build volkiso's list. It's the Pudding and Moria build that 15 of 19 lists played, it carries the best record any Hancock player posted (11-2 across two events), and it costs 94 cents less than lilykei's. lilykei's Hiyori and Rindo build is a fine second deck and the newer one, with a Japanese 6-0 behind it, but it has six games in English events and we'd want more before calling it better.

The real cost is Borsalino: $146.96 for four, 51% of either list, and in all 19 lists. Moria ($43.24 for four) and the OP14-112 Hancock ($25.84) come next. If you already own those, the rest of volkiso's list is about $70. The EB-05 card is the cheapest part of the upgrade: two Boa Hancock EB05-028 for $1.22.

Hancock isn't a top deck in these events. It was the ninth most played Leader with 19 lists, and it goes in losing to Buggy. Bring it if your store runs Enel and Rosinante (5-4 and 4-3 here); skip it for a Buggy-heavy room. For the OP-17 version with the older card pool, our OP-17 Blue/Yellow Hancock deck guide has the full walkthrough, and the EB-05 card list has the rest of the set. Our Kaido EB05 decklist covers the purple deck Hancock went 3-2 against here. Bandai's EB-05 product page lists the release as October 30, 2026 with "Tournament Legal after 7 days", and also says cards are legal from your region's pre-release date, so check with your store.

How we checked this: card text from Bandai's official English card list and Limitless TCG card pages; lists, records and pairings from the Limitless Play public API for every One Piece event from October 19 to November 4, 2026 tagged [EB05] or with an EB-05 card in a posted list, with the Extra-format EGB events left out (12 events, 570 lists, 19 Hancock lists, the last on November 3); the two Japanese lists as OPDeckGuide records them; prices from TCGplayer market data via tcgcsv (updated November 4, 2026), cross-checked against Limitless card pages on November 5 (Limitless had no price for EB05-028 yet); the Life tables from exact counting and from 100,000 simulated games per line with a fixed seed (scripts/sims/optcg-hancock-eb05.py, seed 20261105); turn and DON!! rules from Bandai's comprehensive rules.
